2014 Toyota Prius – A/C Does Not Cool With B1474
CUSTOMER CONCERN The air conditioning does not cool and DTC B1474 indicates an A/C inverter malfunction. CAUSE High-voltage supply, DA1 connector condition, and the compressor's 12-volt power, ground, and control circuits checked good, confirming an internal electric A/C compressor failure. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed electric A/C compressor, clear DTC B1474, and verify normal compressor communication and cooling operation.
2014 Toyota Prius – Soft Brake Pedal After Fluid Flush
CUSTOMER CONCERN The brake pedal remains soft after a brake-fluid flush. CAUSE Air remained in the electronically controlled brake hydraulic system because the initial bleeding method did not complete the ABS-assisted air-bleed routine. CORRECTION Perform the complete brake air-bleed procedure with Toyota Techstream, then verify a firm brake pedal and normal brake-system operation.
2014 Toyota Prius – Hazard Lights Flash Continuously
CUSTOMER CONCERN All turn-signal lamps flash continuously as though the hazard switch is on. CAUSE The hazard-switch input circuit was shorted through Junction Block No. 3; testing at turn-signal flasher pin 8 on the yellow wire isolated the circuit fault. CORRECTION Install a repaired overlay circuit between the hazard switch and turn-signal/hazard flasher to bypass the shorted Junction Block No. 3 path, then verify normal turn-signal and hazard-lamp operation.
2014 Toyota Prius V – ABS Code C1231 and Steering Angle Stuck at 850 Degrees
CUSTOMER CONCERN After left steering-knuckle service, ABS DTC C1231 is stored and the steering-angle reading is fixed at 850 degrees. CAUSE The steering-angle sensor signal remained stuck at 850 degrees after CAN-bus, power, and ground checks, confirming a failed steering-angle sensor. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed steering-angle sensor, perform the required steering-angle calibration, clear DTC C1231, and verify a responsive steering-angle reading and normal ABS o
2013 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited – Power Liftgate Will Not Open or Close
CUSTOMER CONCERN The power liftgate moves manually but will not power open or close. CAUSE The power-back-door main switch in the glove box was in the bypass/off position, disabling automatic liftgate operation. CORRECTION Reposition the power-back-door main switch to enable automatic operation and verify the liftgate powers open and closed normally.
2017 Toyota Highlander Hybrid XLE – Check Engine Light With P0333
CUSTOMER CONCERN The check-engine light is on with DTC P0333 for the bank-2 knock-sensor circuit. CAUSE Rodent damage opened the knock-sensor sub-harness beneath the intake manifold; the normal sensor circuit pulls the 5-volt reference to approximately 2.5 volts, while an average above 4.5 volts sets P0333. CORRECTION Remove the intake manifold as required, remove and replace the damaged knock-sensor harness, clear DTC P0333, and verify the bank-2 knock-sensor signal and engi
2011 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited – Brake Accumulator Pump Inoperative With C1256
CUSTOMER CONCERN The brake accumulator has low pressure, DTC C1256 is stored, and the accumulator pump does not run. CAUSE Power and ground were present at the hydraulic unit, confirming an internal brake actuator assembly failure. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed brake actuator assembly, perform the required brake-system bleed and calibration procedures, clear DTC C1256, and verify normal accumulator-pump and brake-system operation.
2013 Toyota Highlander Hybrid – Transmission Oil Pump Fault With P2602
CUSTOMER CONCERN DTC P2602 returns after the inverter coolant pump was replaced for a transmission oil-pump circuit fault. CAUSE Circuit checks and confirmed repair identified an internal failure of the electric transmission oil pump, not the inverter coolant pump. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed transmission oil pump, clear DTC P2602, and verify transaxle-oil circulation and normal hybrid-system operation.
2013 Toyota Highlander Hybrid – Brake Accumulator Pump Inoperative With C1256
CUSTOMER CONCERN The brake warning lamps are on, DTC C1256 is stored, and the brake accumulator pump does not run. CAUSE Battery power on the large green and white/red circuits and ground on the large white/black circuit were verified, confirming an internal failure of the brake actuator assembly. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed brake actuator assembly, perform the required brake-system bleed and calibration procedures, clear DTC C1256, and verify normal accumulator-
2014 Toyota Camry Hybrid SE – ABS and Traction Lights With C1253 C1256 and C1345
CUSTOMER CONCERN ABS and traction-control warning lamps remain on after body repairs with DTCs C1253, C1256, and C1345. CAUSE Battery feeds and fuses to skid-control ECU connector A28 were verified, confirming an internal failure of the skid-control ECU with actuator; the brake-booster pump could not operate for linear-valve learning. CORRECTION Remove and replace the skid-control ECU with actuator, perform the automated brake bleed and linear-valve offset calibration, clear
