2014 Toyota Prius – A/C Does Not Cool With B1474

CUSTOMER CONCERN

The air conditioning does not cool and DTC B1474 indicates an A/C inverter malfunction.

CAUSE

High-voltage supply, DA1 connector condition, and the compressor's 12-volt power, ground, and control circuits checked good, confirming an internal electric A/C compressor failure.

CORRECTION

Remove and replace the failed electric A/C compressor, clear DTC B1474, and verify normal compressor communication and cooling operation.
