2017 Toyota Highlander Hybrid XLE – Check Engine Light With P0333

CUSTOMER CONCERN
The check-engine light is on with DTC P0333 for the bank-2 knock-sensor circuit.
CAUSE
Rodent damage opened the knock-sensor sub-harness beneath the intake manifold; the normal sensor circuit pulls the 5-volt reference to approximately 2.5 volts, while an average above 4.5 volts sets P0333.
CORRECTION
Remove the intake manifold as required, remove and replace the damaged knock-sensor harness, clear DTC P0333, and verify the bank-2 knock-sensor signal and engine operation.
