2013 Buick LaCrosse – Service Charging System Message After Collision
CUSTOMER CONCERN After collision repairs, the Service Charging System message is displayed and the 12-volt charging system does not operate. CAUSE The collision event left secured high-voltage crash data latched in the Battery Energy Control Module, preventing normal hybrid charging-system operation. CORRECTION Perform the BECM crash-event reset, clear secured high-voltage DTC data, power-cycle the hybrid system as specified, and verify 12-volt charging operation is restored.
2012 Toyota Prius V – Startup Misfire With P0301 and P0302
CUSTOMER CONCERN The engine misfires on cylinders 1 and 2 with DTCs P0301 and P0302, and the driveline produces a severe chattering noise. CAUSE The confirmed repair identified a failed cylinder-head gasket; coolant loss after sitting and a startup misfire supported coolant entering a cylinder. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed cylinder-head gasket, clear P0301 and P0302, and verify the engine starts and runs without misfire or driveline chatter.
2012 Toyota Prius C Four – Air Conditioning Turns Warm With B1441
CUSTOMER CONCERN The A/C cools in electric operation but blows warm when the gasoline engine starts; DTC B1441 is stored and the air-mix door does not respond. CAUSE The air-mix actuator harness circuit board passed an input frequency signal but produced no corresponding output; the actuator was also replaced because an internal short may have damaged the circuit. CORRECTION Remove and replace the air-mix damper actuator and its control wiring harness, clear B1441, and verify
2016 Toyota Prius Two – Coolant Pump Fault With P0117 P148F and P261B
CUSTOMER CONCERN After extended driving, DTCs P0117, P148F and P261B set for engine-coolant temperature and electric water-pump performance. CAUSE The engine electric water pump had a broken impeller; at a 3,000-rpm command its feedback produced 15 pulses per command pulse instead of the three-pulse response seen with the replacement pump. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed engine electric water pump, refill and bleed the cooling system, clear P0117, P148F and P261B, an
2012 Toyota Prius C One – Hybrid System Fault With P0A94-172 and P0A1A
CUSTOMER CONCERN DTCs P0A94-172 and P0A1A reset immediately when the power button is pressed. CAUSE After the engine, motor-generator resolver circuits and their connections were checked, the fault was confirmed inside the power inverter module/inverter-converter assembly. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed power inverter module/inverter-converter assembly, clear P0A94-172 and P0A1A, and verify the hybrid system enters READY mode without resetting the codes.
2012 Toyota Prius C Four – No READY Mode With P0A0D
CUSTOMER CONCERN The vehicle will not enter READY mode and DTC P0A0D is stored. CAUSE The high-voltage battery service grip plug was connected but not fully seated and locked; the Light Green interlock wire measured 11.7 volts while the White/Black ground was good. CORRECTION Fully seat and lock the high-voltage battery service grip plug, clear P0A0D, and verify the Light Green interlock circuit drops to approximately 2.7 mV and the vehicle enters READY mode.
2012 Toyota Prius – Hazard Lights Flash Continuously
CUSTOMER CONCERN The turn-signal lamps flash continuously as though the hazard switch is on. CAUSE A fault in the hazard-switch input circuit kept the turn-signal/hazard flasher commanded on; the Yellow wire at flasher terminal 8 is the control input. CORRECTION Repair the hazard-switch input wiring between the switch and turn-signal/hazard flasher, then verify the hazard and turn-signal lamps operate only when commanded.
2012 Toyota Prius – Cylinder 4 Misfire With P0304
CUSTOMER CONCERN The engine misfires on cylinder 4 with DTC P0304; disconnecting the EGR valve stops the misfire. CAUSE Carbon blocked the individual EGR passages in the intake manifold, concentrating EGR flow into cylinder 4. CORRECTION Remove the intake manifold, clean the individual EGR passages and EGR feed path, reinstall the components, clear P0304, and verify the misfire is eliminated.
2012 Toyota Prius – Air Conditioning Inoperative With B1476
CUSTOMER CONCERN The air conditioning does not cool and DTC B1476 is stored. CAUSE The electric A/C compressor failed to operate even though refrigerant pressure was adequate and the compressor supply harness checked good. CORRECTION Remove and replace the electric air-conditioning compressor, clear B1476, and verify the system cools normally.
2012 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited – No Start After Diesel Fuel Contamination
CUSTOMER CONCERN After diesel fuel was mistakenly added, the engine only cranks or runs briefly and DTCs P0A0F, P3190 and P3191 are stored. CAUSE Diesel fuel remained in the gasoline fuel lines and prevented normal combustion. CORRECTION Drain the contaminated fuel, flush the fuel tank and lines, refill with gasoline, clear P0A0F, P3190 and P3191, and verify the engine starts and runs normally.
