2013 Buick LaCrosse – Service Charging System Message After Collision

CUSTOMER CONCERN

After collision repairs, the Service Charging System message is displayed and the 12-volt charging system does not operate.

CAUSE

The collision event left secured high-voltage crash data latched in the Battery Energy Control Module, preventing normal hybrid charging-system operation.

CORRECTION

Perform the BECM crash-event reset, clear secured high-voltage DTC data, power-cycle the hybrid system as specified, and verify 12-volt charging operation is restored.
