2012 Toyota Prius C Four – Air Conditioning Turns Warm With B1441

CUSTOMER CONCERN
The A/C cools in electric operation but blows warm when the gasoline engine starts; DTC B1441 is stored and the air-mix door does not respond.
CAUSE
The air-mix actuator harness circuit board passed an input frequency signal but produced no corresponding output; the actuator was also replaced because an internal short may have damaged the circuit.
CORRECTION
Remove and replace the air-mix damper actuator and its control wiring harness, clear B1441, and verify the air-mix door moves correctly and the A/C remains cold in both electric and engine operation.
