2013 Honda Insight – Engine Misfire and No Compression With P128A
CUSTOMER CONCERN Engine misfires with no compression on cylinder 3, no oil showing on the dipstick, multiple misfire codes, P1268, P128A, and P2646. CAUSE Compression testing confirmed internal engine and valve damage: cylinders 2 and 3 had no compression and cylinder 4 was also low. CORRECTION Remove and replace the damaged engine assembly, correct the oil level, clear DTCs, and verify compression and engine operation.
2014 Honda CR-Z – Intermittent IMA Light With P15C4:03
CUSTOMER CONCERN IMA warning illuminates intermittently and P15C4:03 indicates auto idle-stop is disabled. CAUSE B1227 identified an open outside-air-temperature sensor circuit. The sensor tested good, and inspection found chewed wiring in the engine compartment affecting the temperature-sensor and right-front lamp circuits. CORRECTION Repair the damaged outside-air-temperature sensor and right-front lamp wiring, clear DTCs, and verify IMA auto-stop and lamp operation.
2012 Honda CR-Z EX – Cranks but Will Not Start After Engine Replacement
CUSTOMER CONCERN Engine cranks but will not start; spark, injector pulse, and scan-tool communication are all absent, and relays may buzz in the underhood fuse box. CAUSE Confirmed poor connection at engine ground G101 on the driver side of the cylinder head after engine replacement. CORRECTION Clean and secure ground G101, repair the ground connection as needed, and verify spark, injector pulse, scan communication, and engine starting operation.
2013 Ford Fusion Energi SE – Check Engine Light With P0203, P0303, and P0316
CUSTOMER CONCERN Check-engine light is on with a cylinder misfire and fuel-injector circuit fault. CAUSE Confirmed failed fuel injector. Injector resistance specification is 11-18 ohms; the confirmed-fix entry did not document a measured value. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed fuel injector, clear DTCs, and verify the engine runs without a misfire or check-engine light.
2013 Ford Fusion SE Hybrid – TPMS Will Not Train and Key Fobs Do Not Work
CUSTOMER CONCERN TPMS warning remains on, none of the tire-pressure sensors will train, and both keyless-entry transmitters are inoperative. CAUSE Confirmed failed Radio Transceiver Module, which supports both TPMS sensor reception and keyless-entry operation. CORRECTION Remove and replace the Radio Transceiver Module, perform the required TPMS sensor training, and verify TPMS and keyless-entry operation.
2013 Ford Fusion SE Hybrid – Stop Safely Now and No Crank
CUSTOMER CONCERN Engine will not crank and the message center displays Stop Safely Now. CAUSE The high-voltage battery service disconnect was not fully connected, opening the high-voltage interlock circuit. CORRECTION Properly connect and latch the high-voltage battery service disconnect, clear DTCs, and verify the vehicle enters ready mode.
2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid SE – Stop Safely Now and No Crank
CUSTOMER CONCERN The engine will not crank and the Stop Safely Now message is displayed; the BECM stores P0B37 and P1A10, while the SOBDM stores P0A0A and P0B37. CAUSE The high-voltage battery service disconnect was not fully seated and latched, leaving the interlock circuit open. CORRECTION Inspect, clean as needed, fully seat and latch the high-voltage battery service disconnect, clear P0A0A, P0B37 and P1A10, and verify the vehicle starts without the Stop Safely Now message
2013 Chevrolet Malibu Eco – Intermittent No Crank and Stall With P069E
CUSTOMER CONCERN The engine intermittently will not crank and may stall while driving; DTCs P1682, P0AC4, P069E and P2534 are stored across the ECM, FPFCM and HPCM. CAUSE The confirmed repair identified an intermittent ignition-switch fault that dropped ignition voltage and caused the module low-voltage and communication symptoms. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed ignition switch, clear P1682, P0AC4, P069E and P2534, and road test to verify the engine no longer stalls
2014 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid – Power Steering Inoperative With C102D
CUSTOMER CONCERN Electric power steering is inoperative and the PSCM stores DTCs C102D and C200D:49 immediately after clearing. CAUSE The steering gear had excessive internal friction and an electronic failure of the internal motor-rotation-angle sensor; neither fault is serviceable separately from the gear/PSCM assembly. CORRECTION Remove and replace the power steering gear/PSCM assembly, program the PSCM to the vehicle, clear C102D and C200D:49, and verify electric power-st
2013 Chevrolet Malibu Eco – Check Engine Light With P0C32
CUSTOMER CONCERN The malfunction indicator lamp is on with DTC P0C32, and the hybrid battery-pack cooling fan is inoperative even though it had previously been replaced. CAUSE The G14 hybrid battery-pack cooling fan motor failed again; the power, ground and variable command circuits tested correctly but the fan did not run. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed G14 hybrid battery-pack cooling fan, clear P0C32, command the fan through its speed range, and verify battery-coo
