2013 Kia Optima Hybrid LX – Hybrid Isolation Fault With P0AA6
CUSTOMER CONCERN Hybrid Battery Voltage System Isolation Fault DTC P0AA6 is stored. CAUSE Isolation testing identified an internal high-voltage leak in the Power Inverter Module; normal BMS isolation resistance with the ignition on is 1 to 4 megohms. CORRECTION Disable the high-voltage system, remove and replace the Power Inverter Module, clear DTC P0AA6, and verify isolation resistance and hybrid-system operation.
2014 Toyota Prius Four – Check Engine Light With P2420
CUSTOMER CONCERN Check-engine light is on with EVAP vent-control DTC P2420. CAUSE Circuit testing confirmed the EVAP vent solenoid inside the canister pump module was faulty; the pink terminal-1 feed had battery voltage from the 10-amp EFI2 fuse and the black control circuit switched to ground when commanded. CORRECTION Remove and replace the EVAP canister pump module, clear DTC P2420, and verify the vent solenoid responds to scan-tool commands and the EVAP monitor completes.
2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid – Hybrid System Warning After Evaporator Repair
CUSTOMER CONCERN After evaporator and instrument-panel service, the READY indicator is on but the hybrid-system warning remains illuminated; DTC U1000 is initially retrieved. CAUSE History DTCs U0293 and P30FE remained in the high-voltage battery controller, while U1000, P3178, and P317B remained in the EV/HEV controller after components were disconnected during dash service. CORRECTION Clear the stored high-voltage battery and EV/HEV controller DTCs U0293, P30FE, U1000, P317
2014 Kia Optima Hybrid LX – Generator Inverter Fault With P0A7A
CUSTOMER CONCERN Generator Inverter Performance DTC P0A7A is stored. CAUSE Insulation and resistance checks of the three-phase U, V, and W generator circuits isolated the fault to the hybrid starter-generator rather than its cables; cable resistance specification is 1 ohm or less. CORRECTION Disable the high-voltage system, remove and replace the hybrid starter-generator, clear DTC P0A7A, and verify generator and hybrid-system operation.
2014 Lexus CT200h – Transaxle Chatter With P0301 and P0302
CUSTOMER CONCERN Engine misfires with DTCs P0301 and P0302 while the transaxle produces a severe chattering noise. CAUSE Coolant was visible inside a cylinder during borescope inspection, confirming a leaking cylinder-head gasket; the engine misfire caused the transaxle chatter. CORRECTION Remove the cylinder head, replace the failed head gasket, refill and bleed the engine cooling system, clear DTCs P0301 and P0302, and verify smooth engine and transaxle operation.
2014 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid Premium – ABS and AWD Lights With C1105 and C1204
CUSTOMER CONCERN ABS and AWD warning lamps are on with DTCs C1105 for the right-rear wheel-speed sensor and C1204 for the AWD solenoid. CAUSE Wheel-speed data and a side-to-side sensor swap confirmed the right-rear wheel-speed sensor was faulty; the C1204 AWD code was secondary to the ABS fault. CORRECTION Remove and replace the right-rear wheel-speed sensor, clear DTCs C1105 and C1204, and verify normal wheel-speed data and ABS/AWD operation.
2014 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid – Hybrid Starter-Generator Seized and Belt Damaged
CUSTOMER CONCERN The hybrid starter-generator locks up and damages the drive belt. CAUSE The hybrid starter-generator pulley could not be rotated by hand, confirming the starter-generator assembly was mechanically seized. CORRECTION Remove and replace the seized hybrid starter-generator and damaged drive belt, then verify the pulley rotates freely and the hybrid starting system operates normally.
2014 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid – Stop Safely Warning With P1B70 and P1B96
CUSTOMER CONCERN Hybrid System Warning instructs the driver to stop safely, the READY lamp flashes, and DTCs P1B70 and P1B96 reset immediately after clearing. CAUSE High-voltage battery cell-voltage imbalance confirmed a failed battery; a cell below 1.5 volts sets P1B70 and a spread greater than 1 volt sets P1B96. CORRECTION Remove and replace the high-voltage battery, clear DTCs P1B70 and P1B96, and verify balanced cell voltages and normal READY operation.
2014 Honda Civic Hybrid-L – Intermittent No Start With P0685
CUSTOMER CONCERN Engine intermittently will not start, the 12-volt battery appears discharged, and DTC P0685 is stored. CAUSE The automatic transmission was confirmed as the failed assembly after power, ground, PGM-FI relay, 5-volt reference, and charging-system checks. CORRECTION Remove and replace the automatic transmission, clear DTC P0685, and verify reliable engine starting and charging-system operation.
2012 Honda Insight LX – SRS Warning After Body Repair
CUSTOMER CONCERN SRS warning is on after passenger-front fender repair with recorded DTC E3-11 and crash DTC F1-11. CAUSE The impact-sensor connector was not fully seated after the body repair. CORRECTION Fully seat and secure the impact-sensor connector, clear SRS DTCs E3-11 and F1-11, and verify the SRS warning remains off.
