CUSTOMER CONCERN ABS warning is on and the ABS module stores DTC C101C. CAUSE The brake booster vacuum pump failed and connector C1035A pin 5 had a loose, heat-damaged terminal that prevented pump operation after replacement. CORRECTION Remove and replace the brake booster vacuum pump, repair connector C1035A terminal 5, clear DTC C101C, and verify vacuum-pump and brake-system operation.
2017 Ford Fusion Energi Platinum – Cold-Start Misfire With P0302
CUSTOMER CONCERN Engine runs rough for several seconds on the first cold start, coolant level drops over time, and the PCM stores DTCs P0302 and P0316. CAUSE Confirmed failed cylinder head gasket allowing coolant intrusion into a cylinder during cool-down. CORRECTION Remove the cylinder head, replace the failed head gasket, refill and bleed the cooling system, clear DTCs P0302 and P0316, and verify cold-start operation.

CUSTOMER CONCERN Power liftgate is inoperative and DTC C2005:31 resets immediately after clearing. CAUSE Confirmed failed liftgate motor assembly. CORRECTION Remove and replace the liftgate motor assembly, clear DTC C2005:31, and verify power-liftgate operation.
2014 Ford C-Max Hybrid SE – Wrench Light With P0A81
CUSTOMER CONCERN Wrench warning illuminates while driving and the BECM stores DTC P0A81. CAUSE The high-voltage battery cooling fan failed a direct power-and-ground operation test. CORRECTION Remove and replace the high-voltage battery cooling fan, clear DTC P0A81, and verify battery cooling-fan operation.
2015 Ford C-Max Hybrid SEL – No Power Steering With U0131
CUSTOMER CONCERN Power steering is inoperative and multiple warning lights are on with DTC U0131; the scan tool cannot communicate with the PSCM. CAUSE Power, ground, and CAN circuits tested correctly but the integral Power Steering Control Module in the steering rack remained offline. CORRECTION Remove and replace the power steering rack/PSCM assembly, program and configure it to the vehicle, clear DTC U0131, and verify power-steering operation.
2014 Chevrolet Volt – Heater Blows Cold
CUSTOMER CONCERN Cabin heater blows cold when heat is selected. CAUSE The G36 auxiliary heater coolant pump did not run although its power, ground, light green/gray terminal 1 command circuit, and violet/yellow terminal 3 duty-cycle circuit tested correctly. CORRECTION Remove and replace the G36 auxiliary heater coolant pump and verify cabin heat operation.

CUSTOMER CONCERN Service High Voltage Charging System message is displayed with DTC P1FFF. CAUSE Confirmed failed hybrid battery coolant level sensor. CORRECTION Remove and replace the hybrid battery coolant level sensor, clear DTC P1FFF, and verify the high-voltage charging system operates normally.
2014 Chevrolet Malibu Eco – Trunk Will Not Open
CUSTOMER CONCERN Deck lid will not release from the interior switch or key fob; no BCM DTCs are stored. CAUSE Confirmed open circuit in the M40 rear compartment lid latch wiring between connector X900 pin 16 and the latch on the dark blue/yellow wire. CORRECTION Repair the open M40 rear compartment lid latch circuit and verify trunk release from the interior switch and key fob.
2012 Buick Regal eAssist – No Start and Poor Running With P0017
CUSTOMER CONCERN Engine intermittently will not start and runs poorly after timing-chain replacement, with DTC P0017. CAUSE The installed timing chain had incorrect colored-link indexing and the camshaft actuators required replacement. CORRECTION Remove and replace the timing chain with a correctly indexed OEM chain, remove and replace the camshaft actuators, set camshaft timing, clear DTC P0017, and verify engine operation.
