2011 Toyota Prius – Warning Lights and P261C After Engine Runs Briefly
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the engine runs for a few minutes before the check-engine and master-warning indicators illuminate. DTC P261C is stored. CAUSE Confirmed failure of the electric engine water pump caused the commanded and actual pump speeds to disagree and set DTC P261C. CORRECTION Remove and replace the electric engine water pump, ENG W/P relay and associated fuse.
2011 Toyota Prius – No Start and Stuck in Park With C2309
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the vehicle will not start, will not shift out of Park and cannot be switched off normally after the discharged 12-volt battery was replaced. DTC C2309 is stored. CAUSE Confirmed failed IGCT relay interrupted B+ power through the IGCT No. 2 and No. 3 fuse circuits to the transmission control ECU. 2014 Kia Optima Hybrid – Transmission Shifts Incorrectly With P1775 and U1007
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the transmission does not shift correctly. DTC P1775 is stored for the electric oil-pump status circuit along with C-CAN communication DTC U1007. CAUSE Confirmed open circuits in wires 3 and 6 adjacent to electric oil-pump control unit connector E64-B. CORRECTION Repair the open circuits at wires 3 and 6 near electric oil-pump control unit connector E64-B.
2011 Kia Optima Hybrid – C1237 Hydraulic Power Unit Fault
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer requests diagnosis of hydraulic power unit primary-pressure sensor signal DTC C1237. CAUSE Confirmed internal failure of the hydraulic power unit caused improper pressure or an invalid internal pressure-sensor signal and set DTC C1237. CORRECTION Remove and replace the hydraulic power unit.
2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid – No Start With P0A0D
CUSTOMER CONCERN The vehicle was towed in with a no-start condition and DTC P0A0D stored. CAUSE Interlock testing confirmed a fault in the service safety-plug wiring. The Red interlock wire measured 5 volts with the circuit open and should be near 0 volts with the plug installed and the circuit grounded; the Black wire is the ground circuit. CORRECTION Repair the service safety-plug interlock wiring, then verify the high-voltage interlock closes and the vehicle starts.
2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid – Slips and Stops Moving at Speed
CUSTOMER CONCERN The vehicle drives normally at lower speed, then slips badly and stops moving when the engine clutch engages. Replacing the transmission without the attached hybrid motor did not correct the concern. CAUSE Engine-clutch command, pressure, solenoid, and slip data confirmed the engine clutch was slipping when commanded locked. 2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid – Clicking Noise in Steering Column
CUSTOMER CONCERN A clicking or thudding noise is heard from the steering column while turning the steering wheel, even after the related recall work was completed. CAUSE Inspection under Hyundai bulletin 14-ST-002-1 confirmed the flexible rubber coupling inside the motor-driven power-steering assembly was worn. CORRECTION Remove and replace the worn steering flexible coupling, then verify quiet steering-column operation through the full turning range.
2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid – Check Engine Light With U1008
CUSTOMER CONCERN The check-engine light is on with DTC U1008 for lost communication with the radiator-shutter Active Air Flap. CAUSE Circuit testing specified approximately 2.5 volts on terminal 3 White and terminal 4 Brown C-CAN wires, battery voltage at terminal 1 Red, key-on battery voltage at terminal 2 Pink, and ground at terminal 6 Black. 2012 Honda Insight – No Spark After Engine Replacement
CUSTOMER CONCERN The engine cranks but has no spark after a used-engine installation, and the scan tool shows no cranking RPM. CAUSE Inspection confirmed the camshaft-position sensor connector had been swapped with a nearby component using the same connector shape. CUSTOMER CONCERN The check-engine light is on with EVAP-system DTC P2422 stored. CAUSE EVAP vent-path testing and the confirmed repair identified a restricted canister vent filter. The fuel-tank pressure sensor Green wire specification is approximately 2.5 volts with no vacuum or pressure applied. CORRECTION Remove and replace the restricted canister vent filter, then verify EVAP-system operation and confirm DTC P2422 does not return.
