2011 Toyota Prius – Warning Lights and P261C After Engine Runs Briefly

CUSTOMER CONCERN

Customer states the engine runs for a few minutes before the check-engine and master-warning indicators illuminate. DTC P261C is stored.

CAUSE

Confirmed failure of the electric engine water pump caused the commanded and actual pump speeds to disagree and set DTC P261C.

CORRECTION

Remove and replace the electric engine water pump, ENG W/P relay and associated fuse.
