CUSTOMER CONCERN
Engine intermittently will not start and runs poorly after timing-chain replacement, with DTC P0017.
CAUSE
The installed timing chain had incorrect colored-link indexing and the camshaft actuators required replacement.
CORRECTION
Remove and replace the timing chain with a correctly indexed OEM chain, remove and replace the camshaft actuators, set camshaft timing, clear DTC P0017, and verify engine operation.
