2014 Ford Fusion Titanium Hybrid – No Start After Transmission Fluid Loss With P0A78

CUSTOMER CONCERN

Vehicle will not start after collision damage caused the hybrid transmission to lose fluid; DTCs P0A78, P0613, and P0A2A are stored.

CAUSE

Running low on Mercon LV overheated and damaged the transmission's internal hybrid drive motor; the system attempted Ready mode and immediately reset the same transmission-related DTCs.

CORRECTION

Remove and replace the automatic hybrid transmission assembly, fill with Mercon LV, clear DTCs P0A78, P0613, and P0A2A, and verify Ready mode and vehicle operation.
