2015 Ford C-Max Hybrid SEL – No Power Steering With U0131

CUSTOMER CONCERN

Power steering is inoperative and multiple warning lights are on with DTC U0131; the scan tool cannot communicate with the PSCM.

CAUSE

Power, ground, and CAN circuits tested correctly but the integral Power Steering Control Module in the steering rack remained offline.

CORRECTION

Remove and replace the power steering rack/PSCM assembly, program and configure it to the vehicle, clear DTC U0131, and verify power-steering operation.
