CAUSE Resistance and harness testing confirmed an internal failure of the power-steering assist motor. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed power-steering assist motor.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The Service Suspension message is displayed after collision repairs, communication with the Electronic Suspension Control Module is unavailable, and DTC U0132-00 is stored in multiple modules. CAUSE Power, ground, network resistance and connector checks passed, confirming an internal failure of the Electronic Suspension Control Module. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed Electronic Suspension Control Module, program and configure the replacement module,

CUSTOMER CONCERN A valve-cover oil leak returns, the oil dipstick is pushed out of its tube, and moisture is present in the fresh-air tube. CAUSE Inspection confirmed a failed crankcase-ventilation condition was allowing pressure and moisture buildup at the valve cover. CORRECTION Remove and replace the valve cover and install the updated vented oil-fill cap.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The vehicle will not crank or start after dying in traffic. DTC P0AFA and related Hybrid Powertrain Control Module codes are stored. CAUSE Inspection confirmed the 12-volt battery was leaking acid and had failed, while the high-voltage battery retained normal voltage and state of charge. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed 12-volt battery, then perform the Clear Secured High Voltage DTCs procedure.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The airbag warning light stays on, and the Sensing and Diagnostic Module stores DTCs B0085 and B0086. CAUSE Inspection confirmed the purple/white and white wires for the left-front Side Impact Sensor were broken in the driver-door jamb. CORRECTION Repair the broken left-front Side Impact Sensor circuits in the driver-door jamb.

CUSTOMER CONCERN DTCs P0121 and P2135 are stored for the electronic throttle-control system. CAUSE Throttle-body connector and circuit testing confirmed an internal failure of the throttle-body assembly. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed throttle-body assembly.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The airbag warning light remains on after replacement of the Sensing and Diagnostic Module. DTCs B1019, B0098, B0081, B0040 and B0033 are stored. CAUSE Module setup review confirmed the replacement Sensing and Diagnostic Module was missing its required vehicle calibration. CORRECTION Program and configure the replacement Sensing and Diagnostic Module with the correct vehicle calibration.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The stability and brake warnings remain on after sequential module programming. Electronic Brake Control Module DTCs C0561, C0299 and C12FF are stored. CAUSE Programming verification confirmed the required Electronic Brake Control Module learn procedures had not been completed. CORRECTION Perform the required Electronic Brake Control Module relearn procedures.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The customer wants the automatic door-locking feature disabled. CAUSE Configuration review confirmed the body control module was programmed to retain automatic door locking. CORRECTION Program and configure the body control module to disable automatic door locking.

CUSTOMER CONCERN Several body-control functions are inoperative, and the vehicle stores a fault indicating transport mode is active. CAUSE Vehicle-status diagnosis confirmed transport mode had not been deactivated. CORRECTION Deactivate transport mode using the BMW vehicle diagnostic system.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The ABS, brake, and traction-control warning lights remain on, and the vehicle will not move. CAUSE The 12-volt battery dropped to approximately 7 volts with the ignition on, confirming the battery could not support vehicle-system operation. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed 12-volt battery.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The vehicle will not start after replacement of a weak 12-volt battery. The brake lamps are inoperative, and the skid-control and engine modules will not communicate. CAUSE Power-distribution testing confirmed the 140-amp DC-DC fuse in the engine-compartment fuse box was open. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed 140-amp DC-DC fuse.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The vehicle intermittently will not start, and the brake lamps are intermittently inoperative. CAUSE Voltage testing at the four-terminal brake-light switch confirmed the switch failed to provide a consistent output signal. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed brake-light switch.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The low-beam headlamps flicker, while the high beams operate normally. No Smart Junction Box DTCs are stored. CAUSE Inspection confirmed a failed connection at the low-beam headlamp assembly connector. CORRECTION Repair the failed low-beam headlamp connector and terminal connection.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The engine will not start after front-bumper-cover installation, and DTCs U0111 and U0294 return each time the key is switched on. CAUSE Network inspection confirmed a fault at the powertrain control module connector in the front-bumper-area high-speed CAN circuit. CORRECTION Repair the failed powertrain control module connector and terminal connection.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The remote will not lock or unlock the doors, and the key will not turn in the ignition. CAUSE The remote LED did not illuminate when its buttons were pressed. Battery testing confirmed the key battery was good, isolating the failure to the ignition key transmitter. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed ignition key transmitter.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The SRS warning is on and occupant-detection-system code 81-64 is stored. CAUSE Testing showed the occupant detection system control unit required initialization rather than component replacement. CORRECTION Perform the ODS control-unit initialization procedure and verify the occupant-detection system reads seat-weight data correctly.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The engine will not start, there is no ignition spark, and the scan tool cannot communicate with the powertrain control module. CAUSE Testing confirmed an internal failure of the powertrain control module. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed powertrain control module.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The VSA warning is on and code 61 indicates low battery voltage. CAUSE Diagnosis confirmed a weak 12-volt battery as the source of the low-voltage VSA code. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed 12-volt battery.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The TPMS warning remains on after a wheel and tire-pressure sensor were replaced. CAUSE The replacement tire-pressure sensor ID had not been learned by the TPMS control unit. CORRECTION Perform TPMS sensor ID learning with Honda-compatible scan and sensor-activation tools.
