2014 Chevrolet Volt – No Crank No Start With P0AFA

CUSTOMER CONCERN

The vehicle will not crank or start after dying in traffic. DTC P0AFA and related Hybrid Powertrain Control Module codes are stored.

CAUSE

Inspection confirmed the 12-volt battery was leaking acid and had failed, while the high-voltage battery retained normal voltage and state of charge.

CORRECTION

Remove and replace the failed 12-volt battery, then perform the Clear Secured High Voltage DTCs procedure.
