2010 Mercedes-Benz ML450 Hybrid – Remote Inoperative and Key Will Not Turn

CUSTOMER CONCERN

The remote will not lock or unlock the doors, and the key will not turn in the ignition.

CAUSE

The remote LED did not illuminate when its buttons were pressed. Battery testing confirmed the key battery was good, isolating the failure to the ignition key transmitter.

CORRECTION

Remove and replace the failed ignition key transmitter.
