CUSTOMER CONCERN The hybrid system will not complete high-voltage precharge and stores DTC P1B77. CAUSE The 12-volt battery failed a load test and the high-voltage safety plug measured open, preventing the 12-volt-controlled battery contactors from completing precharge. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed 12-volt battery and open high-voltage safety plug, clear DTC P1B77, and verify contactor operation, precharge completion, and READY mode.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The hybrid starter-generator locks up and damages the drive belt. CAUSE The hybrid starter-generator pulley could not be rotated by hand, confirming the starter-generator assembly was mechanically seized. CORRECTION Remove and replace the seized hybrid starter-generator and damaged drive belt, then verify the pulley rotates freely and the hybrid starting system operates normally.

CUSTOMER CONCERN Hybrid System Warning instructs the driver to stop safely, the READY lamp flashes, and DTCs P1B70 and P1B96 reset immediately after clearing. CAUSE High-voltage battery cell-voltage imbalance confirmed a failed battery; a cell below 1.5 volts sets P1B70 and a spread greater than 1 volt sets P1B96. CORRECTION Remove and replace the high-voltage battery, clear DTCs P1B70 and P1B96, and verify balanced cell voltages and normal READY operation.

CUSTOMER CONCERN Engine will not start after rebuilt-engine installation and DTCs P0C17 and P1C76 are stored. CAUSE Drive-motor and generator resolver positions were not learned after engine installation. CORRECTION Perform the resolver position sensor calibration with a compatible scan tool according to bulletin 11-HC-001, clear DTCs P0C17 and P1C76, and verify the engine starts and hybrid system operates normally.

CUSTOMER CONCERN Brake warning instructs the driver not to drive; the brake pedal vibrates and the hydraulic pump runs during application, with U0129 and C1800 stored. CAUSE Confirmed failed Electronic Stability Control module causing loss of brake-system communication and an Active Hydraulic Booster CAN timeout. CORRECTION Remove and replace the Electronic Stability Control module, clear DTCs, and verify brake-assist, CAN communication, and warning-lamp operation.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The check-engine light is on with EVAP very-small-leak DTC P0456. CAUSE Smoke testing with soapy water exposed hairline cracks around the charcoal-canister mounting bolts. CORRECTION Remove and replace the cracked charcoal canister, clear P0456, and verify the EVAP system passes its leak test.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The vehicle was towed in with a no-start condition and DTC P0A0D stored. CAUSE Interlock testing confirmed a fault in the service safety-plug wiring. The Red interlock wire measured 5 volts with the circuit open and should be near 0 volts with the plug installed and the circuit grounded; the Black wire is the ground circuit. CORRECTION Repair the service safety-plug interlock wiring, then verify the high-voltage interlock closes and the vehicle starts.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The vehicle drives normally at lower speed, then slips badly and stops moving when the engine clutch engages. Replacing the transmission without the attached hybrid motor did not correct the concern. CAUSE Engine-clutch command, pressure, solenoid, and slip data confirmed the engine clutch was slipping when commanded locked. CUSTOMER CONCERN A clicking or thudding noise is heard from the steering column while turning the steering wheel, even after the related recall work was completed. CAUSE Inspection under Hyundai bulletin 14-ST-002-1 confirmed the flexible rubber coupling inside the motor-driven power-steering assembly was worn. CORRECTION Remove and replace the worn steering flexible coupling, then verify quiet steering-column operation through the full turning range.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The check-engine light is on with DTC U1008 for lost communication with the radiator-shutter Active Air Flap. CAUSE Circuit testing specified approximately 2.5 volts on terminal 3 White and terminal 4 Brown C-CAN wires, battery voltage at terminal 1 Red, key-on battery voltage at terminal 2 Pink, and ground at terminal 6 Black.
