CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the malfunction indicator light is on with DTCs P0A93 and P0AC4, and the vehicle will not complete its emissions test. CAUSE The inverter cooling-system reservoir was empty, and inspection confirmed coolant leaking from an inverter cooling-system hose. CORRECTION Repair leaking inverter cooling-system hose. Refill and bleed inverter cooling circuit. Clear hybrid-system DTCs.
2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid – Check Engine Light With P0A80
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the malfunction indicator light is on and DTC P0A80 is stored, with no noticeable drivability complaint. CAUSE Hybrid-battery block-voltage testing confirmed an abnormal voltage difference inside the high-voltage battery pack. CORRECTION Remove and replace high-voltage battery pack. Clear hybrid-system DTCs.
2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid – Push-Button No Start
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states nothing powers up when the push-button ignition switch is pressed and the vehicle will not start, although remote key functions still operate. CAUSE BCM steering-lock status testing confirmed the electronic steering column lock unit failed to unlock and authorize vehicle power-up. CORRECTION Remove and replace electronic steering column lock unit. Perform required steering-lock registration and verify push-button starting operation.
2006 Ford Escape Hybrid – No Crank With P0AA6 and C1862
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the engine will not crank. DTCs P0AA6 and C1862 reset during a start attempt. CAUSE High-voltage system testing confirmed an internal isolation fault in the traction-battery assembly. CORRECTION Remove and replace high-voltage traction-battery assembly. Clear hybrid-system DTCs.
2007 Ford Escape Hybrid – Check Engine Light With P0128
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the check-engine light is on and DTC P0128 is stored. CAUSE Cold-soak temperature data and cooling-system checks confirmed the engine coolant thermostat was not maintaining the specified regulating temperature. CORRECTION Remove and replace engine coolant thermostat. Refill and bleed engine cooling system. Clear DTC P0128.
2007 Mercury Mariner Hybrid – Low Brake Pedal With C1525
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the brake pedal is low after replacement of a failed front brake hose. DTC C1525 is stored. CAUSE Air remained trapped in the electronically controlled hydraulic brake system because the required hybrid service-bleed routine had not been completed. CORRECTION Perform complete ABS service-bleed procedure with a compatible scan tool and pressure bleeder. Clear DTC C1525.
2007 Ford Escape Hybrid – 12-Volt Battery Goes Dead With B1318
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the 12-volt battery goes dead overnight or after the vehicle sits for several days. DTC B1318 may be stored. CAUSE Battery load testing confirmed the 12-volt battery could not maintain the required voltage. CORRECTION Remove and replace 12-volt battery. Clear low-voltage DTCs and verify normal starting operation.
2007 Lexus RX400h – Hybrid Warning With P0A93 P0A05 P0A08
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states hybrid-system warning lights are on. DTCs P0A93, P0A05 and P0A08 are stored. CAUSE No coolant movement was visible in the inverter reservoir and the inverter coolant pump did not operate, confirming loss of inverter-coolant circulation. CORRECTION Remove and replace inverter water pump. Refill and bleed inverter cooling circuit. Clear hybrid-system DTCs.
2007 Lexus RX400h – ABS Pump Runs With C1391
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the ABS and brake warning lights are on and the ABS pump runs repeatedly. DTC C1391 is stored. CAUSE No external brake-fluid leak was found, and accumulator pressure dropped after pump shutdown, confirming internal leakage in the ABS brake actuator. CORRECTION Remove and replace ABS brake actuator assembly. Perform required actuator initialization and brake-system bleed. Clear DTC C1391.
2007 Lexus GS450h – Brake Warning Lights With C1203 C1336 C1345
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the brake and traction-control warning lights are on. DTCs C1203, C1336 and C1345 are stored. CAUSE The brake system had not completed linear-solenoid valve offset learning and acceleration-sensor zero-point calibration. CORRECTION Perform linear-solenoid valve offset relearn and acceleration-sensor zero-point calibration with a compatible scan tool. Clear brake-system DTCs.
