2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid – Push-Button No Start

CUSTOMER CONCERN

Customer states nothing powers up when the push-button ignition switch is pressed and the vehicle will not start, although remote key functions still operate.

CAUSE

BCM steering-lock status testing confirmed the electronic steering column lock unit failed to unlock and authorize vehicle power-up.

CORRECTION

Remove and replace electronic steering column lock unit. Perform required steering-lock registration and verify push-button starting operation.
