2009 GMC Yukon Hybrid – No Start With P0BBD After Contaminated Fuel

CUSTOMER CONCERN
The engine will not start and the Service Hybrid System message is displayed after repeated restart attempts. Battery Energy Control Module DTC P0BBD is stored.
CAUSE
Inspection confirmed water-contaminated fuel had entered the fuel system, and repeated attempts to start the gasoline engine discharged the high-voltage battery.
CORRECTION
Remove the contaminated fuel, clean or replace the affected fuel-system components, perform the required engine-oil and induction services, and perform the hybrid-battery jump-assist procedure.
