2008 Toyota Prius – 12-Volt Battery Requires Repeated Jump Starts
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the auxiliary battery repeatedly requires a jump start. DTCs C2300 and C2318 are stored, and battery voltage measures approximately 10 volts. CAUSE Parasitic draw measured only 36 milliamps, confirming the discharged auxiliary battery itself could not retain normal voltage. CORRECTION Remove and replace 12-volt auxiliary battery. Clear DTCs C2300 and C2318 and verify normal battery voltage and vehicle power-up.
2008 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited – No Brake Pressure After Rear Calipers
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states brake pressure was lost at the right rear after rear brake and caliper replacement, and manual, gravity and pressure bleeding did not restore the pedal. CAUSE Air remained trapped in the electronically controlled hydraulic brake system, and zero accumulator pressure prevented the scan-tool bleed routine from operating normally. CORRECTION Operate brake pump to establish accumulator pressure, then perform complete hybrid ABS service-bleed proce
2008 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited – No Crank and No Electrical Power
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the vehicle will not crank or start and nearly all electrical systems are inoperative after the 12-volt battery went dead. CAUSE Voltage testing found no power at the engine-compartment battery terminal, confirming the 120-amp DC/DC fusible link was open. CORRECTION Remove and replace 120-amp DC/DC fusible link. Inspect remaining power-distribution fuses and verify normal vehicle power-up and READY-mode operation.
2008 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited – Noise When Powered On
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states a noise begins in the engine compartment as soon as the vehicle is powered on. CAUSE Inspection isolated the noise to the auxiliary heater water pump, one of the components operating immediately at power-up. CORRECTION Remove and replace auxiliary heater water pump. Refill and bleed the heater-coolant circuit and verify quiet pump operation.
2008 Toyota Highlander Hybrid – ABS Pump Runs With C1391
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the ABS and brake warning lights are on and the ABS pump runs repeatedly. DTC C1391 is stored. CAUSE No external brake-fluid leak was found, and accumulator pressure dropped after pump shutdown, confirming internal leakage in the ABS brake actuator. CORRECTION Remove and replace ABS brake actuator assembly. Perform actuator initialization and complete brake-system bleed, clear DTC C1391 and verify accumulator pressure holds.
2008 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited – C1203 C1345 After Battery Went Dead
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the 12-volt battery went dead during an alignment and DTCs C1203 and C1345 are now stored. CAUSE Loss of battery voltage erased the linear-solenoid valve offset calibration, leaving the brake-control system incorrectly configured. CORRECTION Perform linear-solenoid valve initialization and calibration, complete yaw-rate sensor calibration as required, clear DTCs C1203 and C1345 and verify brake-system operation.
2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid – Engine Barely Cranks With P3190
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the engine barely moves when attempting to start and cannot be turned manually. DTCs P3190, P0A0F, P0A80, P3000 and P3147 are stored. CAUSE Separating the engine from the transaxle confirmed the hybrid automatic transaxle was mechanically locked. CORRECTION Remove and replace hybrid automatic transaxle. Clear powertrain and hybrid-system DTCs and verify normal engine cranking and vehicle operation.
2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid – Air Conditioning Inoperative With B1476
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the air conditioning does not operate. DTC B1476 is stored. CAUSE High-voltage compressor testing confirmed an internal short in the electric air-conditioning compressor. CORRECTION Remove and replace electric air-conditioning compressor. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system, clear DTC B1476 and verify cooling operation.
2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid – Brake Pump Inoperative With C1364 C1365
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the replacement brake actuator pump will not run or build pressure. DTCs C1246, C1364 and C1365 are stored, and accumulator pressure reads zero. CAUSE The hydraulic system had no accumulator pressure after actuator installation, preventing normal pump control until pressure was established and the service routine completed. CORRECTION Power brake-pump motor to establish accumulator pressure, perform complete ABS bleed and linear-valve relearn,
2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid – 12-Volt Battery Not Charging
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the 12-volt battery is not charging. DTCs P0A08-264, P0AE6 and P2519 are stored, and battery voltage falls from 12.53 volts with the vehicle in READY mode. CAUSE DC/DC converter power and ground testing confirmed the converter was not producing charging voltage for the auxiliary battery. CORRECTION Remove and replace DC/DC converter. Clear DTCs and verify stable 12-volt charging voltage in READY mode.
