2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid – Engine Barely Cranks With P3190

CUSTOMER CONCERN

Customer states the engine barely moves when attempting to start and cannot be turned manually. DTCs P3190, P0A0F, P0A80, P3000 and P3147 are stored.

CAUSE

Separating the engine from the transaxle confirmed the hybrid automatic transaxle was mechanically locked.

CORRECTION

Remove and replace hybrid automatic transaxle. Clear powertrain and hybrid-system DTCs and verify normal engine cranking and vehicle operation.
