2014 Honda Accord Plug-In – Steering Wheel Locked

CUSTOMER CONCERN

Steering wheel is locked and cannot be turned more than a few degrees in either direction.

CAUSE

The steering column moved normally when disconnected, but the wheels remained locked through the rack with the tie rods isolated, confirming a seized steering gear assembly.

CORRECTION

Remove and replace the seized steering gear assembly and verify full steering travel and normal steering operation.
