CUSTOMER CONCERN

Clicking or thudding noise remains in the steering column after the recall repair.

CAUSE

The flexible rubber coupling in the motor-driven power-steering assembly was worn and deteriorated.

CORRECTION

Lower the steering column as required, remove and replace the steering flexible coupling, clean out coupling debris, and verify quiet steering operation.
