CUSTOMER CONCERN Clicking or thudding noise remains in the steering column after the recall repair. CAUSE The flexible rubber coupling in the motor-driven power-steering assembly was worn and deteriorated. CORRECTION Lower the steering column as required, remove and replace the steering flexible coupling, clean out coupling debris, and verify quiet steering operation.

CUSTOMER CONCERN A clicking or thudding noise is heard from the steering column while turning the steering wheel, even after the related recall work was completed. CAUSE Inspection under Hyundai bulletin 14-ST-002-1 confirmed the flexible rubber coupling inside the motor-driven power-steering assembly was worn. CORRECTION Remove and replace the worn steering flexible coupling, then verify quiet steering-column operation through the full turning range.
