2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring – No Start and No Module Communication After Engine Replacement

  • Aug 16
  • 1 min read

CUSTOMER CONCERN

The vehicle will not start after engine replacement, the ECM and TCM do not communicate, F-CAN voltage exceeds 8 volts, and VSA DTCs 86-12, 86-13, 86-14, and 86-24 are stored.

CAUSE

The four-wire A/C compressor connector and rear oxygen-sensor connector were interchanged during engine installation, corrupting the high-speed F-CAN circuit.

CORRECTION

Reconnect the A/C compressor and rear oxygen-sensor harness connectors to their correct components, clear DTCs 86-12, 86-13, 86-14, and 86-24, and verify normal F-CAN voltage, module communication, and vehicle startup.
