2015 Toyota Prius C – Steering Angle Sensor Code C1231

CUSTOMER CONCERN
DTC C1231 returns immediately after clearing for a steering-angle-sensor fault.
CAUSE
The steering angle sensor failed after its battery feeds, ground, and CAN circuits were identified as the required checks.
CORRECTION
Remove and replace the failed steering angle sensor, perform the required steering-angle calibration, clear DTC C1231, and verify the code does not return.
