2014 Honda Civic Hybrid – A/C Inoperative With B2992

CUSTOMER CONCERN

Air conditioning is inoperative, the recirculation indicator does not illuminate, and HVAC DTC B2992 indicates an open thermal-protector circuit.

CAUSE

The A/C compressor thermal-protection circuit was open; bypass testing of the red and blue compressor wires restored the A/C switch and clutch data response.

CORRECTION

Disable the high-voltage system, remove and replace the failed A/C compressor assembly, clear DTC B2992, and verify A/C and recirculation-indicator operation.
