2013 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited – Low-Speed Brake Clunk and Shudder

CUSTOMER CONCERN

A clunk and shudder comes from the right-front wheel during low-speed braking just before the vehicle stops.

CAUSE

The front brake pads caused the vibration; moving the pads side to side changed the symptom and isolated it to the base brake system.

CORRECTION

Remove and replace the front brake pads and verify smooth, noise-free braking during repeated low-speed stops.
