2012 Chevrolet Volt – Service High Voltage Charging System With P1FFD and P1FFF

CUSTOMER CONCERN

The Service High Voltage Charging System message is displayed with DTCs P1FFD and P1FFF.

CAUSE

Graphing the battery coolant-level-sensor circuit showed intermittent voltage spikes to 5 volts instead of the normal 3.5 volts, confirming a sensor-harness fault.

CORRECTION

Remove and replace the drive-motor battery coolant-level sensor harness, program the HPCM2 and BECM updates supported by the repair, clear P1FFD and P1FFF, and verify charging-system operation.
