2012 Ford Fusion Hybrid – Overheating After Radiator Repair
CUSTOMER CONCERN The engine overheats after collision-related radiator replacement and stores DTC P1285. CAUSE The confirmed repair identified a failed engine water pump; multiple exact-vehicle fixes replaced the pump for this overheating condition. CORRECTION Remove and replace the engine water pump, refill and bleed the cooling system, clear P1285, and verify normal engine temperature.
2011 Toyota Prius – Warning Lights and P261C After Engine Runs Briefly
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the engine runs for a few minutes before the check-engine and master-warning indicators illuminate. DTC P261C is stored. CAUSE Confirmed failure of the electric engine water pump caused the commanded and actual pump speeds to disagree and set DTC P261C. CORRECTION Remove and replace the electric engine water pump, ENG W/P relay and associated fuse.
