CUSTOMER CONCERN

Customer states the battery intermittently goes dead while driving. DTCs P0AFB, U0111 and U1897 are stored.

CAUSE

BECM communication, power, ground and data-circuit checks confirmed an internal Battery Energy Control Module failure.

CORRECTION

Remove and replace Battery Energy Control Module. Program and configure replacement module. Clear hybrid-system DTCs and verify charging operation.
