2011 Honda CR-Z – Check Engine Light With P0A3F
CUSTOMER CONCERN The check-engine light previously illuminated and history DTC P0A3F is stored. CAUSE The hybrid motor rotor-position sensor was confirmed faulty. CORRECTION Remove and replace the hybrid motor rotor-position sensor, clear P0A3F, and verify the fault does not return.
2011 Honda CR-Z – IMA Motor Will Not Restart Engine With P1586
CUSTOMER CONCERN The IMA warning light is on with DTC P1586. The engine shuts off during auto stop but will not restart with the IMA motor; the conventional starter still cranks and starts the engine. CAUSE Inspection confirmed the IMA motor-stator bolts had backed out, allowing the stator to bind against the rotor magnet. CORRECTION Remove the transaxle and replace the damaged IMA motor stator, then verify IMA cranking and auto-stop restart operation.
2011 Honda CR-Z EX – Radio Inoperative With Theft Light Only
CUSTOMER CONCERN The radio is inoperative. Only the theft indicator illuminates, and the CODE prompt does not appear. CAUSE Battery voltage was present at radio connector terminal A3 on the Pink wire and terminal A24 on the Purple wire, and the radio ground tested good. Inspection confirmed a navigation-equipped radio had been installed in a vehicle requiring the non-navigation unit. CORRECTION Remove the incorrect navigation radio and install the correct non-navigation radio
2011 Honda CR-Z – Skid Control Light With DTC 52-1
CUSTOMER CONCERN The skid-control warning light is on and DTC 52-1 is stored. CAUSE Power and ground checks passed. Direct pump-motor testing confirmed the pump inside the VSA modulator-control unit did not operate correctly. CORRECTION Remove and replace the VSA modulator-control unit assembly, then verify ABS and stability-control operation.
2011 Honda CR-Z – Battery Light On and Not Charging With P1634
CUSTOMER CONCERN The battery warning light is on and the vehicle is not charging. DTC P1634 is stored in the IMA system, with no related ECM code. CAUSE Testing and the confirmed repair identified a failed Intelligent Power Unit module fan. CORRECTION Remove and replace the Intelligent Power Unit module fan, then verify hybrid charging-system operation.
