2011 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited – P2602 Returns After Inverter Pump Replacement

CUSTOMER CONCERN

Check-engine warning is on with DTC P2602, and replacing the inverter water pump did not stop the code from returning.

CAUSE

P2602 applied to the transaxle oil-circulation pump rather than the inverter coolant pump. Power, ground and control-circuit testing identified the transmission oil-pump assembly as the failed component.

CORRECTION

Remove and replace the transmission oil-pump assembly, clear DTC P2602, and verify transaxle oil-pump operation.
