2011 Honda Insight – Intermittent IPU Fan Fault With P1448

CUSTOMER CONCERN

DTC P1448 returns intermittently even though the code clears and the IPU fan self-test currently passes.

CAUSE

Connection checks and the confirmed repair identified an intermittent failure of the Intelligent Power Unit module fan used to cool the hybrid battery.

CORRECTION

Remove and replace the Intelligent Power Unit module fan, then verify fan operation and confirm DTC P1448 does not return.
