CUSTOMER CONCERN

The engine will not crank and DTC U1888 is stored.

CAUSE

Corrosion inside the underhood auxiliary fuse block caused a low-voltage feed at terminal J1, preventing BECM and serial-data-gateway communication.

CORRECTION

Remove and replace the auxiliary fuse block, clear DTC U1888, and verify module communication and starting operation.
