2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid – Check Engine Light With P0136

CUSTOMER CONCERN

The check engine light is on with oxygen-sensor circuit DTC P0136 stored.

CAUSE

Circuit, fuel-trim, and exhaust-leak checks confirmed a failed rear oxygen sensor at Bank 1 Sensor 2; the hybrid-control calibration also required the applicable update.

CORRECTION

Remove and replace the Bank 1 Sensor 2 oxygen sensor, then update the Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU with the applicable calibration.
