2007 Ford Escape Hybrid – ABS Light and Abnormal Brake Pedal

CUSTOMER CONCERN

Customer states the ABS warning light is on and brake-pedal operation feels abnormal. The ABS module stores C1524, C1526 and U2023.

CAUSE

Circuit testing at the brake-pedal position sensor found the sensor signal did not agree with the 5-volt reference circuits on the Blue/Brown and Brown/White wires, confirming a failed BPP sensor.

CORRECTION

Remove and replace brake-pedal position sensor. Perform sensor calibration and clear ABS DTCs.
