CUSTOMER CONCERN The hybrid system stores isolation-fault DTCs P0AA6-49 and P1C80-49 for the rear motor area. CAUSE Corrosion in the high-voltage floor under-wire harness caused the documented isolation fault. CORRECTION Remove and replace the corroded high-voltage floor under-wire harness, clear DTCs P0AA6-49 and P1C80-49, and verify high-voltage isolation and hybrid-system operation.
2013 Toyota Prius – No Start With P0AA6 and a Weak 12-Volt Battery
CUSTOMER CONCERN The vehicle was towed in with a no-start condition and DTC P0AA6 for a high-voltage isolation fault. CAUSE The 12-volt auxiliary battery measured only 8.3 volts and would not retain a charge; the confirmed report also found sleep-current draw at approximately 0.03 mA. CORRECTION Remove and replace the failed 12-volt auxiliary battery, clear DTC P0AA6, and verify the vehicle enters READY mode normally.
2010 Lexus RX450h – No Start With P0AA6
CUSTOMER CONCERN Vehicle is towed in with a no-start condition and Hybrid Battery Voltage System Isolation Fault DTC P0AA6. CAUSE The electric A/C compressor had an internal high-voltage isolation fault. CORRECTION Disable the high-voltage system, remove and replace the electric A/C compressor, clear DTC P0AA6, and verify isolation resistance and READY operation.
2013 Kia Optima Hybrid LX – Hybrid Isolation Fault With P0AA6
CUSTOMER CONCERN Hybrid Battery Voltage System Isolation Fault DTC P0AA6 is stored. CAUSE Isolation testing identified an internal high-voltage leak in the Power Inverter Module; normal BMS isolation resistance with the ignition on is 1 to 4 megohms. CORRECTION Disable the high-voltage system, remove and replace the Power Inverter Module, clear DTC P0AA6, and verify isolation resistance and hybrid-system operation.
2013 Toyota Prius C Two – Service Hybrid System Warning With P0AA6
CUSTOMER CONCERN Service Hybrid System warning appears with isolation DTC P0AA6; the fault returns shortly after the A/C is switched on and the compressor is unusually loud. CAUSE The high-voltage isolation fault stopped returning when the electric A/C compressor was disconnected, confirming an internal compressor insulation leak. CORRECTION Remove and replace the electric A/C compressor, clear DTC P0AA6, and verify A/C and hybrid-system operation without an isolation fault.
2012 Ford Focus Electric – Intermittent No Ready Mode
CUSTOMER CONCERN The vehicle intermittently will not enter Ready to Drive mode and may not engage reverse when Ready, with multiple powertrain DTCs stored. CAUSE Cooling-system pressure testing confirmed coolant leakage from the upper high-voltage battery assembly. CORRECTION Remove and replace the upper high-voltage battery assembly, program the replacement battery, refill and bleed the electric-powertrain cooling system, clear the DTCs, and verify Ready mode and reverse ope
2011 Nissan LEAF SV – Will Not Run or Charge With P0AA6
CUSTOMER CONCERN Vehicle will not operate or charge and stores DTC P0AA6. CAUSE High-voltage isolation testing measured 90 volts between the positive battery terminal and battery case. Isolating the module stacks identified battery module 37 shorted from its positive side to its casing. CORRECTION Remove and replace failed high-voltage battery module 37, reassemble the battery pack, clear DTC P0AA6, and verify vehicle operation and charging.
2006 Ford Escape Hybrid – No Crank With P0AA6 and C1862
CUSTOMER CONCERN Customer states the engine will not crank. DTCs P0AA6 and C1862 reset during a start attempt. CAUSE High-voltage system testing confirmed an internal isolation fault in the traction-battery assembly. CORRECTION Remove and replace high-voltage traction-battery assembly. Clear hybrid-system DTCs.
