2009 Honda Civic Hybrid – No Hybrid Assist With U0037
CUSTOMER CONCERN The engine starts on the 12-volt starter, but the hybrid system does not operate. DTCs U1205 and U0037 are stored. CAUSE CAN-network testing confirmed an internal Motor Control Module failure. Module communication was intermittent, and scan-tool parameter data was incomplete when communication was available. CORRECTION Remove and replace the Motor Control Module, program the replacement module, and verify hybrid-system operation.
2009 Honda Civic Hybrid – Runs Rough With P0339
CUSTOMER CONCERN The engine intermittently runs rough and has low power with DTC P0339 stored. CAUSE Power, ground, signal-circuit, and pattern checks confirmed an intermittent crankshaft-position sensor failure. CORRECTION Remove and replace the crankshaft-position sensor, then perform the crankshaft-pattern clear and relearn.
2009 Honda Civic Hybrid – High Idle With P0507 After Throttle Cleaning
CUSTOMER CONCERN The engine idles too high after throttle-body cleaning, and DTC P0507 may return intermittently. CAUSE The throttle-position learned value was not reset after service, leaving the idle control strategy out of calibration. CORRECTION Reset the throttle-position learned value and perform the idle relearn procedure.
2009 Honda Civic Hybrid – Multiple Warning Lights When Hot
CUSTOMER CONCERN The check engine, brake, TPMS, IMA, and stability-control warning lights come on when engine-compartment temperature rises; the vehicle operates normally when cold. CAUSE Heat testing confirmed an internal temperature-sensitive failure in the Powertrain Control Module. CORRECTION Remove and replace the Powertrain Control Module.
2009 Honda Civic Hybrid – IMA Light With P0A7F
CUSTOMER CONCERN The check engine and IMA warning lights are on with DTC P0A7F stored. CAUSE Battery-module testing and the applicable Honda bulletin confirmed deterioration inside the high-voltage IMA battery. CORRECTION Remove and replace the high-voltage IMA battery, then update the Motor Control Module with the applicable calibration.
