CUSTOMER CONCERN The engine loses power with DTCs P1286, P128A and P2646. CAUSE The confirmed cases identified an incorrect/low engine-oil level preventing normal rocker-arm oil-pressure and VTEC operation. CORRECTION Correct the engine-oil level, clear P1286, P128A and P2646, and verify engine power and VTEC operation.

CUSTOMER CONCERN The engine cranks but has no spark after a used-engine installation, and the scan tool shows no cranking RPM. CAUSE Inspection confirmed the camshaft-position sensor connector had been swapped with a nearby component using the same connector shape. The incorrect wire colors exposed the mix-up; the correct circuits are Yellow/Black 12-volt supply, Brown/Yellow ground, Blue crankshaft signal, and Green camshaft signal.
