2012 Buick LaCrosse – Driver Window Inoperative With U1538
CUSTOMER CONCERN The driver window is inoperative, while the other windows operate from their individual switches, and the BCM stores DTC U1538. CAUSE Inspection found two corroded factory splices in the wiring harness below the driver-side door sill, interrupting power and communication to the driver window switch. CORRECTION Repair the corroded wiring splices below the driver door sill and verify driver-window and master-switch operation.
2012 Buick LaCrosse Premium – Intermittent No Crank and Stalling
CUSTOMER CONCERN Vehicle intermittently will not crank and may stall while driving with DTCs P1682, P0AC4, P069E, and P2534 stored. CAUSE Confirmed repair results identified an intermittent internal failure of the ignition switch. CORRECTION Remove and replace the ignition switch and verify reliable starting and continued engine operation.
2012 Buick LaCrosse Premium – Hybrid Codes P1A6F and P0A90
CUSTOMER CONCERN Hybrid-system DTCs P1A6F and P0A90 are stored. CAUSE Inspection found the drive motor-generator belt broken cleanly and the belt tensioner binding instead of pivoting smoothly. CORRECTION Remove and replace the drive motor-generator belt and failed belt tensioner using the specified service tools.
2012 Buick LaCrosse – 12-Volt Charging System Inoperative
CUSTOMER CONCERN The 12-volt charging system is inoperative and DTCs P0AC4, U0293, and U1817 are stored. CAUSE The Hybrid Powertrain Control Module would not communicate even though its power and ground circuits were present, DLC terminals 6 and 14 measured 60 ohms, and other high-speed GMLAN modules communicated normally. Testing confirmed an internal HPCM/Starter Generator Control Module failure. CORRECTION Remove and replace the Hybrid Powertrain Control Module/Starter Gen
2012 Buick LaCrosse – Hesitation With P0010
CUSTOMER CONCERN Vehicle hesitates during acceleration and stores DTC P0010. CAUSE Comparative resistance testing found excessive resistance in the intake camshaft position actuator solenoid. A normal actuator solenoid measures approximately 12 ohms. CORRECTION Remove and replace the intake camshaft position actuator solenoid, clear DTC P0010, and verify normal acceleration response.
2012 Buick LaCrosse – Check Engine Light With P0013
CUSTOMER CONCERN Check-engine light is on with DTC P0013. CAUSE Circuit checks and exact-source confirmed repairs identified a failed exhaust camshaft position actuator solenoid. The solenoid specification is 8–13 ohms; if it tests within range, the wiring to the ECM requires inspection. CORRECTION Remove and replace the exhaust camshaft position actuator solenoid, clear DTC P0013, and verify the code does not return.
