CUSTOMER CONCERN The check engine light is on with DTCs P2450 and P0442 stored. CAUSE The confirmed failure is the fuel-vapor vent valve in the evaporative-emissions system. CORRECTION Remove and replace the EVAP fuel-vapor vent valve.
2009 Ford Escape Hybrid – Check Engine Light With P0130
CUSTOMER CONCERN The check engine light is on with DTC P0130; the vehicle may otherwise run normally or surge while driving. CAUSE The confirmed failure is the universal heated oxygen sensor at Bank 1 Sensor 1. CORRECTION Remove and replace the Bank 1 Sensor 1 universal heated oxygen sensor.
2009 Ford Escape Hybrid – No Power Steering Assist With B2278
CUSTOMER CONCERN Power steering assist is inoperative, and DTC B2278 returns after it is cleared. CAUSE Testing and confirmed-fix history identify a failed steering shaft torque sensor in the electronic power-assist steering system. CORRECTION Remove and replace the steering shaft torque sensor. Perform the required steering torque and steering-angle sensor calibration.
2009 Ford Escape Hybrid – Limp Mode With P0A7C
CUSTOMER CONCERN The vehicle intermittently enters limp mode with DTCs P0A7C, P1A0D, P1A0E, and P1A0F stored. CAUSE The confirmed failure is the Motor Electronics Cooling System pump, which is not circulating coolant through the hybrid electronics cooling circuit. CORRECTION Remove and replace the Motor Electronics Cooling System pump.
